Just saw this:

anyone try it yet?
Can you use the maps on Chart FX for this? No, but I've used Dundas, I'd be interested in comparing notes. My
understanding is the third party charts implement a different set of
interfaces than the default chart. A couple drawbacks, the dundas chart
wasn't easy to swap, the xml was a completely different structure. The
image quality of the text isn't that great, and a few other items that I
think would be specific to Dundas.

those based on the custom report item interfaces due to rendering
limitations of the interface. This is will remain common amongst any
Reporting Services control vendor until Microsoft provides a rendering
context to the controls and allows a render to a format other than an
image.
Microsoft has based their native chart on our core chart code but the
difference between their implementation and ours (aside from our
features are much more deep) is that they render with context and do
processing at different times of execution. When our RS chart renders,
we have to do it all in one shot.
When the native chart renders they adjust according to where they are
rendering. For example, when they render to the printer, they will
generate a chart image as an emf file and scale to the device later in
execution. If pdf, they render to a image that is actually resized to
a huge image, they then scale the fonts, and adjust other chart
elements through a complex transformation (this is how they do it in
SQL2005 as they did it differently in SQL2000).
Today, we have released Dundas Chart for Reporting Services v1.5 and
Dundas Gauge for Reporting Services v1.0. In this release of our
chart, aside from bug fixes and new features, we have made significant
changes in our rendering to improve the quality of the text. These
changes provide you much improved printing / pdf rendering, however,
they are not a full solution and unfortunately one will not be
available the next SQL Server release in 2007. In the meantime, Dundas
Software will continue to work closely with the SQL Server team to
ensure the quality improves to what you would demand.
