Check Connection Exist

Lets say I have created an excel connection to an excel file.
During/Before runtime, I have deleted the file.

Is there any way for me to detect if the connection exists or not, and if the connection does not exist, skip a particular data flow process?Hi there,

You have a couple of options:
1. Use a script task to call out to System.IO.File.Exists to confirm the file exists. This will mean you'll have to get the file name from the connection string or use a variable that the connection manager's connection string uses itself.
2. Use a script task to call AcquireConnection on the connection to see if that succeeds.

Either way, put the result of the check into a variable and use that variable as a condition on the precedence constraint that goes from the script task to the data flow task.

charts in excel

hello all,
i am a new user of excel 2007.i would like to display a chart when a particular cell is selected or cursor pointed to a cell in a report in which data came from ssas.how should i proceed for this ?do i need to code for this or in-built features help me to do so?i.e actually i wanted display chart along with the cells which overlaps with the cells and can be drilled down and drilled-up automatically.

You can use SSAS actions (should be accessible via right-click) to launch charting tools which access the SSAS data in the correct context, for example an SSRS report with URL parameters. Or do you instead wish to display a chart within Excel 2007 itself?

Actions

In Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services, an action is a stored MDX statement that can be presented to and employed by client applications. In other words, an action is a client command that is defined and stored on the server. An action also contains information that specifies when and how the MDX statement should be displayed and handled by the client application. The operation that is specified by the action can start an application, using the information in the action as a parameter, or can retrieve information based on criteria supplied by the action.

chart problems

Hey all, I'm in a bit of a problem. I have a set of data on an excel spread sheet and i want that data to make a chart on a user form. I figured out how to get a blank chart on the user form but don't know how to link any data. Anyone think they can help?It would help if you posted this in the Excel forum rather than the MSSQL forum.

Chart Help! I must be stupid!

OK, I have done 1000s of excel charts. Paste in the data, select the
data, insert chart and it works.
I am trying to do a simple line chart in RS and can't figure it out
after two hours. Maybe it is time to quir coding! My query returns the
following:
Product, Month1, Month2, Month3, Month4, Month5 (There Are Column
Names)
Proda 123 222 454 126 322 (this is the sales
data, row 1)
Prodb 333 526 447 631 262 (this is the sales
data, row 2)
Prodc 143 242 344 126 229 (this is the sales
data, row 3)
Prodd 153 123 467 116 122 (this is the sales
data, row 4)
I want a simple line chart with month1 thru month 5 at the bottom axis
and the
sales scale on the left axis. The series would be of course
proda,b,c,d. So I
want 4 lines on the chart from left to right representing month 1 thru
5 and the line would chart up and down based on the sales number.
In excel I paste in the table, hightlight it and insert a line chart
and it is 100% right. I'll email anyone the excel file who wants it.
What am I missing on this deal. I have looked every where and tried a
dozen combos. Thanks for your time!!
SheilaWhat kind of charts did you choose?
