Charts and Graphs Question

I have a chart that has dates list on the x axis in a horizontal fashion. I
would like to change them to be vertical. Can anyone tell me how todo this'
Thanks,Andy,
I don't think you can set it, it seems to be automatic. If the dates
don't fit horizontally, it turns them for you.
The only thing you can affect is the data labels inside the chart area.

Chart Y-axis Values Problem

I created a chart using some calculated fields, the calculations are working
correctly (I manually checked the math), but the Y axis values are way off.
The highest field value generated was 18,544 but the scale on the chart was
showing 500,000 with the bar reaching nearly to the top. I could understand
if the scale was just off and the bar stopped at the correct position, but
not only is the scale off, the bar doesn't correctly represent the value
either. Because this report will be used for several customers I can't
manually set a limit for the Y-axis. I turned off the labels for the Y-axis
so that I can use the chart, but I would prefer being able to see the labels.
I have installed SP1. Any help would be appreciated.
JoeHi, you can convert the scale of your chart in a expression in the RDL; try
it.

Joe, can you post a simplified report which runs e.g. based on Northwind
data and reproduces the issue?

Chart problem

I am displaying a chart in crystal report. In this chart/graph on the vertical data axis i have values in the format like 0.00. Now I want to display this value in the format 0:00, i.e. I want to replace the period(.) with a colon.

I am not getting any solution for this. Also I have a field label on the top of the graph which is formula. In this also I have the same problem.

I can get a colon in the Time format but it is disturbing the number system of the graph.

Need a solution.I have a similar problem at the moment; my dates on the horizontal axis are in the standard DD/MM/YYYY format, whereas I need DD.MM.YYYY. I don't think Crystal Graphing tool is powerful enough to do this, but I did find that I could make it appear this way by changing my computer's regional settings.

Hope this is of some help to you.|||Yes, even I think that crystal is not capable of such a thing.
Thanks for your input anyway.

chart label mapping to strings

How can I convert chart axis labels to strings. For example instead of
showing 1, 2, 3.. on x axis, how can I show gold, silver etc? Thanks. You can either add a CASE statement to the SQL query and use that for
your label field, or you can add a calculated field to the dataset.

say gold and 2 will be silver etc. However if the data is 1.5 I can't map
that to a string. Thanks.

expression in formatcode does not work. expression
"=iif(fields!abc.value=10, "gold",
iif(fields!abc.value=20, "bronze", "silver"))" generates the following error
Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current data
scope or,
if inside an aggregate, the specified data set scope. Thanks.

Chart Interlacing Colors

For a given axis I can select to enable interlaced colors.
How do I select what the second, interlacing color is?
It appears to always be gray.
This is not ideal for the custom colors we have selected.
Thank you in advance.
JerryThe interlacing color is automatically determined based on the chart's
backgroundcolor or plotarea color (if they are explicitly set).

Chart in crystal

I want to put an asterik next to the numbers on the Group axes (i.e. the numbers on the X axis of the chart) or on the data values of the chart.
Any clues?Cant you use text object for this?|||Can't use text box since it is a dynamic chart and the positions of the data values and group axis values change at runtime.|||Couldn't you write a formula and use that in place of your datafield?

Something like

"*" + " " + {table.field} and then place that in your chart?

Don't quote me that this will work, but I like to take a stab at things to see if I can make them work.

Chart Gridline Question

Is there a way to make Y axis gridlines intervals change dynamically?
Basically increase/decrease base on numbers being graph. Not in rs2k don't know about rs2k5. I got round this by overlaying graphs
and hiding the ones i didn't want to see depending on how much data i got
out.

Chart Axis Scaling - labelling every 5 points

Hi,
I have alot of trend data to display on a chart. The x-axis is used for
dates. However not only dont I need to display all the labels but they
clutter the chart.
Is there a way of only displaying every 5th date?
I tried using the following expression for the label colour but it didnt
work:-
=Iif(RowNumber("OrderDetail") Mod 5, "Black", "White")
Many thanks in advance for any help,
Steve.Please see this related posting:

In your case you should set the major interval of the x-axis to 5 (i.e.
interval of 5 days)

Chart Axis Labels

Is there a way to format numerics like this:
Instead of this:
10,000,000,000
9,000,000,000
8,000,000,000
I would like this:
10B
9B
8B
Or Instead of this:
2,000,000
1,500,000
1,000,000
500,000
I would like this:
2M
1.5M
500k
Is this possible with the charting object? I am quite familiar with
the formatting codes but have never run across something like this.
Thank you in advance for your help.Does anyone know is this is possible?

My problem is that when I have two data series the X axis is grouped with
values from both series and makes it unreadable. How can I create two

Chart Axis

I have created a bar chart with percentages as the variables. The numbers on
the chart are correct, but the scale is incorrect. The scale adjusts to 100%
for all fields.
Anyone else encountered this problem?
--
TDWhen using percentages (e.g. format code P on the Y-axis), you can either
auto-scale the axis or you can specify an explicit min/max value. If you
specify an explicit max value (e.g. 120%), you have to specify it as 1.2
rather than 120
For percentages, 1 means 100%.

Chart - X Axis

Can the labels on the x axis be rotated so that they display vertically. The
user wants a report that shows the month-year like May-2005, but with the
text rotated 90 degrees. The text orientation is determined automatically based on the horizontal
space available.
If you show many months along the X-axis, the labels will most likely not
fit horizontally (in one line or two lines) and will therefore get rotated.

Chart

Hi everyone,
I am currently using SSRS 2000. I have a chart that shows everything that we have shipped by specific part number. The Y axis displays the quantity and X axis shows the date. Well, the X axis I grouped it by year then by month, so it can display Jan 04, Dec 05, Mar 07, etc. but all I get is the year. How can I format it, or do so it can display that format??

Thanks ahead of time,
Abner

try this expression

=MonthName(Month(Fields!FeildName.Value),true)& " " & Year(Fields!Fieldname.Value)

|||

Thank you very much, works like a charm.

Abner
